Hello I have a question:
I bought an bronze statue from a Hindu "god"? on Bali.
The man who sold the statue to me said it was the god Wishnu, but I thought that's a man? and my statue is female Wink
And I really would like to know who this "goddess" is, and what she stand for.
So please can someone help me with this? I can send a picture from the statue.

I don’t know, because we just have here chest.
I thought it was Laksmi (the wife of Wishnu?)
The man who sold this statue said it came from an Hindu temple from East Java, and that the statue was "antique" before the world war 2 .
(Sorry if my English is not so good, I am Dutch)

Why dont you send this pic to the Indonesian Hindu archeology dept.

Looking at the idol, i cant tell. if its laksmi, there must be a lotus. And most Hindu gods have more then 2 arms : )

Perhaps its a idol of some Javanese princess frm folklore?

Its a Jain God [ Tirthankar ] idol probably, detail may be browsed out from google , looking at the symbol at chest and head of course .

I am not sure of that is Lord Brahma, because if it were Lord Brahma, He would have had the Holy Vedas depicted in one of his arms.
